tv - wire in the blood - bbc

Kids, have a look! This one sounds good! TV.COM says..... Based on characters in the novels by Val McDermid, Wire in the Blood centres around Dr. Tony Hill, a clinical psychologist who is able to tap into his own dark side to get inside the heads of serial killers. Working with vice squad detectives, Hill takes on tough and seemingly impenetrable cases in an attempt to track down the killers before they strike again. Set in the fictional Yorkshire town of Bradfield, the show is a fast-paced and thrilling ride that borders on the surreal, adding an additional measure of intensity.

TV:

David Lynch: "On the Air"

Lynchnet:"The year is 1957. A new program entitled "The Lester Guy Show" is debuting on the Zoblotnick Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC). Most of the cast is nuts, the crew is incompetent and everything that could go wrong always does. Of course, this makes the show a hit.

While mixing the sound for an episode of the second season of Twin Peaks, Lynch was hit with a sudden inspiration. "It just came into my head, the idea of people trying to do something successful and having it all go wrong."1 Following the initial success of Twin Peaks, David Lynch and Mark Frost were hot properties in Television. When they approached ABC with the idea for "On the Air," the network was eager to take them up on the offer. The show itself was a half-hour absurdist comedy featuring many of the cast and crew from Twin Peaks. The pilot tested very well, and six more episodes were ordered. However, by the time it came to scheduling the On the Air, things with Twin Peaks had already fallen apart, and the network was no longer eager to work with Lynch. "

One episode, cut in four parts, can be seen on YouTube

Videodrom has it on VHS!

TV:

Thursdays: TV Discussion Group

All good writers and directors wanna do television now. Working on new characters from the hot new fictional universes of "Lost", "Heroes", "Prison Break", "Battlestar Galactica" or "Deadwood" seems to be more fun than thinking up another 2 hours long merchandising-promotion a la "The Hulk 2". Crime, Action, Mystery, Comedy, Western, History, Gangsters, cops, Hospitals, Lawyers and even a great horror-show like "Masters of Horror": all classic genres have been revitalized in the past few years. America is trying hard to come up with more and more shows with complex multi-layered storylines. Some of them just look smart and some of them might be off the air soon, but Television has never been more fun. And "Desperate Housewives" has become the most entertaining show around again. Season 3 kicks ass!

England is catching up with the latest version of "Dr. Who", "Torchwood and a six-part action-packed thriller called "The State Within". So , here's another preview for you to check out...

First review at tvsquad.com: "When BBC America and the BBC in the UK team up on a project, they rarely do things by halves, but I'm not certain The State Within will be the type of show that American viewers will be drawn to.

For a start, it pretty much opens with a trans-Atlantic flight being brought down by a terrorist bomb over Washington, with the finger of blame quickly pointing at a British muslim.

The British Ambassador to the USA, Sir Mark Brydon (Jason Issacs), quickly finds himself embroiled in a complex political conspiracy, at the heart of which is a plot to destabilize western government."

Below: "A clip from the series premiere of the British TV Drama series "The State Within" shown on the BBC. This scene shows the unexpected kiss between actors Ben Daniels and Noam Jenkins."
