Frank Zappa on "Beat-Club"

On 6th October 1968, Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention played a 35 Minute live performance for German TV broadcast. Most Material contained Instrumental Versions from "Freak Out", "We're Only in It For the Money", and of course "Uncle Meat". (Links for the videos below!)

The show was "Beat-Club", produced by Radio Bremen!

Wikipedia : "It is notable for being the first German show to be based around popular music, and featured legendary artists like Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, and Neu! in its seven-year run." Really worthwhile watching out for reruns late at night on german TV! Check out the list of performers at Wikipedia or this list of all shows.

BOOKS:

Jorge Luis Borges

"Excerpts from two of the six Norton Lectures that Jorge Luis Borges delivered at Harvard University in the fall of 1967 and spring of 1968. The recordings of these six lectures, only lately discovered in the Harvard University Archives, uniquely capture the cadences, candor, wit, and remarkable erudition of one of the most extraordinary and enduring literary voices of our age. Through a twist of fate that the author of Labyrinths himself would have relished, these lost lectures return to us now--in Borges's own voice."
