The Mysterious Geographic Explorations of Jasper Morello

<img src="i136.photobucket.com" border="0" width="400") alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"> (Get this picture as a wallpaper here!)

(Academy Award Nominee - Best short 2005)

Oh, boy, this film is really special and all we got is the crappy YouTube-version in three parts. Check it out. It's the perfect film for a sunday! I'll try to find the dvd and we can watch it on the big screen.

Read the Gothia Gazette for more info on the dvd, downloads like screensavers and wallpapers etc. It's also one of the most beautiful pages out there.

Synopsis: "Set in a world of iron dirigibles and steam powered computers, this gothic horror mystery tells the story of Jasper Morello, a disgraced aerial navigator who flees his Plague-ridden home on a desperate voyage to redeem himself. The chance discovery of an abandoned dirigible leads Jasper through unchartered waters to an island on which lives a terrifying creature that may be the cure for the Plague..."

CIAO! MANHATTAN - Video and more info For some a primary source document of the 1960s, for others a transcendental viewing experience, CIAO! MANHATTAN is a fascinating yet unsettling peek at the final drugged-out days of famed heiress and Andy Warhol Factory muse Edie Sedgwick.

Dark Night of the Scarecrow

A clip from this extremely rare classic, made for tv, horror film.

Hysteria lives: "These days it's difficult to imagine a time when there were any made-for-TV horror movies, let alone ones which approached greatness. Without a doubt the 70's were the era for classic TV horror movies, but a few gems emerged during the early 80's, too. DARK NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW is one such film; a slow burning, fantastically creepy small screen tale."

British bookstore to set up Potter helpline for distressed fans

Yahoo reports:"British book retailer Waterstone's is hoping to set up a helpline for distressed fans of the popular Harry Potter series because two characters will be killed off in the final instalment, The Daily Telegraph reported.

'This could be a similar moment to when (pop band) Take That split up -- there could be a lot of upset teenagers out there,' said Debbie Williams, a buyer for the book chain."

English guide to Berlin

We're still working on it, but you could help us with your comments. What are your favourite places and what else do you need to know if you don't understand a bloody word of German?

There is some stuff in the "Berlin"-section already, but we want more and then we sort it out by people, places, traffic etc.! So, come on, we got 86 members and 250 MySpace-friends, give us 10 minutes of your time please!

ANOTHER COUNTRY:

Ch-Ch-Changes

There is a table of contents on the left side now. The category "Another Country" is only for entries like this one plus gossip, reviews, photos from the shop and whatever else you come up with.

Events (like whatever movie is on!) are filed under events from now on, ok? So, if you get the latest entry in that section, you click on events and you should find what you're looking for. I will update some of the previous entries, but not all of them. So, some old trailers will still be filed under "movies", but, hey, the events are over anyway!

Selling books in "Second Life"

Snowbooks was named joint Small Publisher of the Year at the 2006 British book Trade Awards.

They do unusual things like offering extracts from their books in the virtual world "Second Life".

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

By the way, they bookshop will have a place in SL too. The house, a sort of victorian shop, is already there. The video-screen and the jukebox is working. The only mover even got some free pizza. The first floor is not done yet, but that's where you will find the virtual Alan.

Forget Hollywood! Forget that kiddie-movie "Pans Labyrinth"! The guy who brought you "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" is back! Ok, the trailer looks like a romantic comedy from France, but you have never seen anything like this before, believe me! No idea why it didn't get the attention it deserves, but it's a must!
