You can't stop the music!

Wikipedia: "Can't Stop the Music is a musical comedy film directed by Nancy Walker in 1980. It is a pseudo-biography of disco's Village People which bears no resemblance to the actual story of the group's formation.

Released well after the disco craze had peaked in the United States, the film was a major critical and commercial failure and only did well in Australia. Since its initial failure, however, Can't Stop the Music has gained something of a cult status as a camp film. Can't Stop the Music was the recipient of the first "Worst Picture" award at the 1980 Golden Raspberry Awards."

(Academy Award Nominee - Best short 2005)

Oh, boy, this film is really special and all we got is the crappy YouTube-version in three parts. Check it out. It's the perfect film for a sunday! I'll try to find the dvd and we can watch it on the big screen.

Read the Gothia Gazette for more info on the dvd, downloads like screensavers and wallpapers etc. It's also one of the most beautiful pages out there.

Synopsis: "Set in a world of iron dirigibles and steam powered computers, this gothic horror mystery tells the story of Jasper Morello, a disgraced aerial navigator who flees his Plague-ridden home on a desperate voyage to redeem himself. The chance discovery of an abandoned dirigible leads Jasper through unchartered waters to an island on which lives a terrifying creature that may be the cure for the Plague..."

Dark Night of the Scarecrow

A clip from this extremely rare classic, made for tv, horror film.

Hysteria lives: "These days it's difficult to imagine a time when there were any made-for-TV horror movies, let alone ones which approached greatness. Without a doubt the 70's were the era for classic TV horror movies, but a few gems emerged during the early 80's, too. DARK NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW is one such film; a slow burning, fantastically creepy small screen tale."

Friday: The Annual Cold War Special

There will be dinner, a selection of books on the coffee table and we may even turn the heat on. Ok, the weather feels like spring or something, but be not mistaken, as my favourite president would say, the cold will come! So, get one of those russian hats at Checkpoint Charlie, take an U-Bahn and get your ass down here to meet all the other secret agents of Another Country.

By the way, Robert de Niro directed a movie about the CIA called "The Good Shepherd".... That great actress Angelina Jolie is in it!

Maybe you wanna check it out on the big screen.
